I am a Remnant because I recognize that I am a descendant of a particular people.
A people who live where systems are designed to humiliate and oppress them. I am a Remnant because my parents hail from a land that has been abused for the benefit of its former (?) colonizers. I am a Remnant because my features tell a story my last name cannot. I am a Remnant because I understand self-hate and mental chains passed down for generations. I am a Remnant because I am the image and strength of those who survived. And we are still surviving, more beautiful, and aware as ever…
